Day Trip to the Picturesque Gem of Pelion & the Cinematic Magic of Mamma Mia

On the enchanting eastern side of Pelion, where lush green forests meet the endless blue of the Aegean, emerges Damouchari – a small, traditional settlement that seems to have stepped out of the pages of an old fairytale. With its two natural “embraces” – the old and the new harbor – its stone-paved paths, quaint cafes with flower-filled courtyards, and an authentic Pelion aura, Damouchari offers visitors a serene and nostalgic experience.
This place is well-known to cinema lovers. Scenes from the famous movie “Mamma Mia!”, starring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan, were filmed here, and it is easy to see why: the blend of natural beauty, traditional architecture, and authentic Greek atmosphere is simply irresistible. The beach with its large white pebbles, turquoise waters, and verdant trails leading to nearby shores like Fakistra, make the area ideal for day trips and relaxation.
An excursion to Damouchari is an opportunity to experience the authentic side of Pelion: to walk in the footsteps of the past, to swim in waters shimmering under the Aegean light, and to savor local flavors overlooking the vast blue sea. Whether you come to experience its cinematic romance or to discover its cultural heritage, Damouchari will remain unforgettable. Book your spot now and join us to live the atmosphere of a place that perfectly combines nature, history, and cinematic magic.
